| In lieu of a fancy Yuletide letter, here's a semi-random selection of things I enjoy in fic (this goes for all of my fandom requests):
• friendship<333, • themes of leaving and coming back, • pining (though hopefully not suicidally), • pranks, • surprise kisses, especially ones with unconventional motives, • food (eating food, feeding each other, going out for food, cooking, grocery shopping), • wearing each other's clothes, • room-sharing, • bed-sharing, • playgrounds, • beaches, • hugs, • vacations, • drunken antics, • people who can't handle their liquor but don't realize it, • unintentional innuendo in dialogue, • comical misinterpretations of conversations or requests, • irony, • small children, • balloons, • road trips or just trips, • some kind of angst or challenge before a sweet resolution, • stalking (not in a creepy way but more of a wee and awkward way), • meddling, • spying, • sexual tension, • coming of age, • matter-of-factness, • fumbling (over words or shirt buttons), • awkwardness, • suspicious coincidences (like one character just "happening" to run into the other a lot), • unconventional gifts or declarations, • throwing rocks at windows (not in the vandalism way, in the "I came all this way to see you" way), • collar-grabbing, • fights that escalate until neither party knows what the fight was originally about (it was probably something stupid) and they both laugh it off, • trains, • wee and kind of faily attempts at rebelliousness or being ~cool~, • happenstance, and, of course, • something I like to call "gay terror", aka one character developing crush-resembling feelings for another same-sex character and getting really hilariously worked up over the ~meaning~ of it all (and trying to deny it at all costs). basically, a comedic response to the ubiquitous sexual identity crisis XD
Whew. Obviously I am not expecting you to include everything or even most of the things on this list, but if any one of them inspires you more than my original prompts, I wholeheartedly encourage you to run with it!!!
If you didn't offer one of the jdrama fandoms but are interested in checking it out, you can find all of the episodes in the livejournal "jdramas" community :) For Yakitate!! Japan, you can read the manga online at onemanga.com, and the episodes are available on youtube. although this series is kind of massive, so the others might be more easily digestible if you need to switch prompts. ;)
I already love you for writing for me!! ♥♥♥ I am so excited to see what you come up with! |
